Description
Sharp angles collide in a rhythmic dance of geometry. This 2025 collage blends precise structure with organic echoes. Vibrant greens intersect with muted earth tones. Each shard suggests a fragment of a lost landscape. The composition moves with an architectural energy. It rejects symmetry for a dynamic tension. Textures shift between smooth paint and grainy patterns. A diagonal axis cuts through the center. This line guides the eye from deep shadows to luminous highlights. The artist draws on a lifelong passion for the natural world. Her transition from law to art history informs this disciplined approach. Every intersection feels intentional. The overlap of shapes creates a sense of layered depth. It evokes the feeling of a shattered mirror reflecting a forest. This artwork balances the rigidity of geometric forms with an innate love for the earth. Light plays across the faceted surfaces. The result is a sophisticated study of color and equilibrium. The piece concludes with a bold, lime green plane at the bottom right.
Presentation
Adriana Setter was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1964, although she is also Italian by love, and by choice. She grew up in this city, but her inner self was always deeply linked to Nature. She loved the countryside, horses and the wonderful environments of her country, her connection with the Earth, its colors, its silences and its sounds were permeating her personality.
Although she decided to study Law, and then practice as a lawyer for more than 20 years, History and Art were passions that she has cultivated since her youth. A book, a Museum, were her favorite pastimes. These passions gradually gain space, and she decides to jump from “observing" to “creating", she begins to study Painting and creates her first works.
As fate would have it, she moved to live in the Netherlands in 2006. This new stage in the “Old World” immerses her in an infinite Universe of history, art, diverse cultures, incredible landscapes and wonderful places. Faced with this change fundamental in his life, he decided to study Art History and dedicate himself to painting. A full time to fulfill dreams and live passions.
Studying the path of Art from its origins to today, her interest in knowing the life of painters in their time, contemplating their works, meant for her discovering that Painting is the “expression of the soul", as she defines it. In front of Each canvas thinks about the author, about the reason for each light, each shadow, each expression, each color, what the painter felt at every moment, what was happening around him.
From Lorenzo Lotto to Ghirlandaio, Fortuny, RothKo, Modigliani, De Chirico, “each and every one,” as she likes to say, impacted her in something… an image, an emotion, a theme.
