Description
The city is born of light and water, like a memory painted in tender strokes. A quiet canal carries in its mirror-like waters the reflections of old houses standing along the bank like guardians of time.
A bridge throws its graceful arch across the silvery surface, linking shores and destinies. Boats glide slowly across the water, leaving behind a barely audible whisper of waves. A soft mist hangs over the city, wrapping the roofs and towers in a haze of dreams.
In this painting Amsterdam appears not as a noisy metropolis but as a tender poetry of water, stone and sky — a place where every moment is filled with calm, and every glint on the canal keeps the secret of the old city.
