color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">Lebanese self-taught artist Rafik
Majzoub’s paintings are emotionally charged memoirs of fractured identity,
displacement and human nature. His work explores the self in an honest,
individualistic and profoundly expressive narrative, which investigates a personal
and psychological journey.

Rafik Majzoub adds a sarcastic tone to his work and puts them together with a raw character. His tortured characters are put under pressure, respite isn't part of their dictionary. He calls himself the "outsider artist," like an excluded character who claims for the main role of art in his country. His paintings reveal people who are constantly evolving. Each of his strokes shapes the illusion of a work, which is in progress. The unfinished aspect of his paintings is a reflection to depict that a human being isn't capable of admitting imperfection and fragmentation, which surround the world. Rafik Majzoub captures us quickly. The artist confides in a sincere manner "In a way, my work is therapeutic for me ... but it is a long therapy, and there is no end to it. Actually, I am never entirely satisfied with my paintings. I work in my studio for some time, and I feel that the collection is over if I haven't touched them for several weeks. I need to get them out in order to move on to the next step. But they need to be immersed in the workshop for a long time before I am ready to actually expose them".

The artist has done several personal exhibitions in his capital and participated in various group exhibitions, or shows. Prizes have honored his work, especially during the biennial of Arab artists from Latakia, where he won the bronze trophy.
