Description
The Lyon artist revisits childhood with a contemporary look. This resin sculpture adopts the shape of a bear, a symbol of softness, to better question the codes of our society.
Pop Art takes over the symbols of luxury here. Turquoise blue dominates the composition, recalling the aesthetic of a famous jewelry house.
The contrast is established with the image of a woman blowing a bubblegum bubble. This detail brings a quirky and urban touch to the whole.
The work is based on a constant duality. The roundness of the support opposes the precision of the graphic motifs.
The artist uses these references to explore the relationship between innocence and consumerism.
The object becomes a mirror of modern aspirations.
The glossy finish of the resin accentuates the sophisticated rendering of the object.
The historical logo and the date 1837 appear on the bear's paw.
Presentation
Naor is a French artist from Lyon born in 1988. Completely anchored in his time, he has always traveled a lot around the world. If travels form youth, Naor was inspired by it. From the top of his thirty years, he succeeded in retranscribing his observations, his feelings and his impressions. Thanks to his childlike supports, his contemporary details, he achieves a delicious harmony between softness and violence. This discrepancy constitutes his identity. Like life, marked by hardship, his works refer us to our own experiences. Finally, the use of luxury brands in a spirit of "Pop'art" allows him to pay homage or to denounce the way our societies function. Naor interprets the world with his child's eyes.
