Description
This sculpture represents a stylized hand raising the middle finger, transforming a universally provocative gesture into a pop and sculptural object.
Its rose fuchsia chrome finish, extremely shiny, captures the light and reflects its surroundings, reinforcing its precious aspect while contrasting with the insolence of the subject. The shapes are deliberately rounded and streamlined, with generous volumes that evoke the aesthetic of an inflated balloon or a designer toy. The fingers are simplified, almost melted into each other, which softens the violence of the gesture and gives it a playful dimension.
The work plays on the contrast between a luxurious finish and a symbol of rebellion. Both ironic, impudent, and resolutely contemporary, it diverts a sign of defiance to make it a decorative object with strong personality. Its visual language borrows from both pop art and contemporary design, transforming an everyday gesture into a graphic icon capable of provoking a smile, surprise, or reflection.
With its compact silhouette and vibrant color, this sculpture becomes a real focal point in a modern interior, where it brings a touch of humor, audacity, and character.
Presentation
In each sculpture, Sagrasse places a fragment of humanity, an emotion kneaded into the material, like a breath that crosses time.
Born in 1966 in Macerata, in the Marche region of Italy, Sagrasse has dedicated his life to sculpture for over thirty years. Driven by a constant passion for material and form, he has developed an artistic language that is both contemporary and profoundly human.
His works are exhibited throughout the world, in galleries, private exhibitions, and spaces dedicated to art. This international career reflects a recognition acquired over time, driven by the sincerity and strength of his work.
Sagrasse's creations address contemporary and universal themes : ecology, social ideologies, and the relationship between man and his environment. His sculpture thus becomes a space for reflection, where consciousness and aesthetics, questioning and emotion intertwine.
