Description
This sculpture represents a stylized hand in a mirror gold finish, whose middle finger is raised in a universally provocative gesture. Around this finger coils a serpent with smooth, organic shapes, creating a striking contrast between the power of the symbol and the elegance of the composition.
The treatment is deliberately streamlined: the volumes are soft, without superfluous anatomical details, which gives the work a contemporary aesthetic close to the design object. The highly polished surface captures and reflects light, reinforcing its precious and sculptural character.
The serpent, an ambivalent symbol of temptation, transformation, and rebirth, literally embraces the gesture of defiance. This encounter between two strong icons produces a visual and narrative tension: the work oscillates between insolence, sophistication, and mystery.
Both bold and minimalist, this sculpture diverts a familiar gesture into a piece of contemporary art in the pop language, where dark humor, provocation, and refinement coexist with astonishing elegance.
Presentation
In each sculpture, Sagrasse places a fragment of humanity, an emotion kneaded into the material, like a breath that crosses time.
Born in 1966 in Macerata, in the Marche region of Italy, Sagrasse has dedicated his life to sculpture for over thirty years. Driven by a constant passion for material and form, he has developed an artistic language that is both contemporary and profoundly human.
His works are exhibited throughout the world, in galleries, private exhibitions, and spaces dedicated to art. This international career reflects a recognition acquired over time, driven by the sincerity and strength of his work.
Sagrasse's creations address contemporary and universal themes : ecology, social ideologies, and the relationship between man and his environment. His sculpture thus becomes a space for reflection, where consciousness and aesthetics, questioning and emotion intertwine.
