Description
This artwork is a dynamic assemblage that captures attention with its vivid display of textures and colors. Layers of torn, painted paper in shades of fiery orange, deep black, and touches of white and yellow create a striking composition. Intertwined within this chaotic array are thin, black wires, adding a three-dimensional aspect and suggesting movement or entanglement. The juxtaposition of sharp edges and soft folds creates a sense of tension and energy, inviting viewers to explore the complexity within the seemingly random arrangement. The choice of colors evokes warmth and intensity, while the incorporation of mixed media breaks traditional boundaries, offering a fresh and compelling visual narrative. This piece stands out for its boldness and its ability to provoke thought through its abstract yet organized chaos.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
