Biography
Fanny Marchand is a Canadian-French painter based in Montreal, whose practice is within gestural and textured contemporary abstraction. Her work explores the tension, transformation, memory, and invisible forces that shape human journeys.
Through matter, gesture, superimpositions, and contrasts, she builds compositions where control and abandon, presence and effacement, force and vulnerability meet.
Nourished by her travels, multiculturalism, street art, as well as by the notions of imperfection and impermanence, her pictorial research develops an increasingly refined language, in which void, trace, and matter occupy a central place.
In 2026, she is continuing this evolution within the framework of individual coaching with the international artist Sébastien Cheramy, particularly deepening composition, gesture, formal reduction, and series coherence.
With a professional background of over twenty years in strategy and transformation, Fanny Marchand also approaches the development of her artistic career with a structured and long-term vision. Her positioning is intentionally within a professional approach aimed at the contemporary art market, with the ambition of developing lasting relationships with galleries, collectors, and investors, in Canada and internationally.
Her work has been exhibited in Quebec and is generating growing interest from galleries and private collectors, both in Canada and internationally.
