Description
SAHARA, by Fanny Finkelman Szyller Polished metal, oxides on wood Dimensions: 23.4 H x 23.4 W x 3 D cm. This precious landscape is all the result of the exploration of small pieces of metal intervening with different acids that the artist has finished with color pigments and gold powder.
This artwork is a striking circular piece, expertly capturing the rugged essence of a barren landscape. The composition features a seamless gradient from deep earthy browns to warm amber tones, invoking a sense of vast, unyielding desert terrains. The textured brushwork adds a tactile dimension, highlighting undulating forms that suggest distant hills or sand dunes. Above, a contrasting, muted sky of soft gray completes the scene, suggesting an overcast, contemplative atmosphere. The circular format lends a unique framing element, focusing the viewer's attention inward, evoking a sense of confinement yet expansiveness within the natural world. This minimalist yet profound landscape distills the raw beauty and harsh realities of the natural environment, showcasing the artist’s ability to evoke emotional depth through simplicity and color.
Presentation
Fanny Finkelman's sculptures are the result of a continuing exploration of the many materials that the artist has worked with over the years.
The three-dimensional artists' sculptures are full of transparency by the combination of various materials and objects that have been thrown away. Adding color to each piece is essential, but in the aesthetic context that controls the final form.
This precious landscape is all the result of the exploration of small pieces of metal intervened with different acids that the artist finished with color pigments and gold dust.
