Description
This abstract artwork commands attention with its dynamic interplay of textured layers and vibrant hues. The canvas is adorned with a rhythmic pattern of black, orange, and green spots, creating a sense of depth and movement. Its edges are irregular, suggesting the organic and unrestrained nature of the composition. A central panel, subtly elevated, enhances the three-dimensionality, inviting viewers to explore its intricacies. The textured background, punctuated with hints of yellow and red, adds to the complexity, while the blending and overlaying of colors evoke a sense of continuous motion. This piece uniquely combines edgy boldness with subtle sophistication, making it an evocative study of texture and form.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
