Description
As part of the Christmas Mystery series, Stairway to Heaven encapsulates the ascension from earthly existence to a higher spiritual plane. Inspired by the iconic Led Zeppelin song, this piece captures the essence of gradual transformation—a metaphorical climb toward enlightenment and transcendence.
Kost's layered brushwork and nuanced color palette create a sensation of movement, as if the viewer is drawn upward through a dreamlike space. The golden and blue hues symbolize both divinity and the unknown, while subtle architectural forms suggest pathways, doors, and fleeting visions of celestial realms. The painting resonates deeply with the themes of time, destiny, and spiritual awakening, making it a compelling standalone work or a harmonious extension of the triptych.
Both Christmas Mystery and Stairway to Heaven reflect Anatoly Kost's unique ability to translate the emotive power of music into a visually striking and philosophically rich artistic experience.
Presentation
Anatoly Kost (Kostyuk) is an outstanding Ukrainian artist, born in Volyn in 1960, and his career has been over 35 years. His works in the style of abstract art are currently in many private European collections and the National Art Museum of Ukraine. With his works, the artist visited international exhibitions. The artist adheres to the concept of the process of transmuting the energy of abstract art into the energy of music or choreography and vice versa, noting their mutual polyphony. An essential factor in the forces of his work are the masterpieces of world musical classics and choreography, which became the basis for determining the personal philosophical direction in abstraction, namely contemp-abstraction (plastic image of the internal state).
