Description
My painting is as much political as it is poetic, intimate as it is universal, creation as it is deconstruction: the expression of a gay identity in motion, in a desire to repair the traumatized collective imagination. This painting represents an act of love between three men. The bodies mingle, rise, and proudly appreciate each other. The colors, all in contrast, symbolize passion, tension, and extreme desire.
Presentation
Initially an actor and videographer for the theatre, Samuel, now sam·e, develops a queer practice of sculpture and painting that deconstructs heroic virility and politically questions the body and its representations.
Her work questions the body as a political and plastic space: how norms shape our emotions and identities.
By weakening and queering the codes of the heroic body, they compose desired and desiring presences that invite new forms of resistance.
