Description
This artwork vividly portrays an elderly couple walking arm in arm along a sunlit boardwalk, exuding a sense of companionship and tranquility. The artist skillfully employs a vibrant palette dominated by blues and earthy tones, capturing the shimmering expanse of the ocean and the warmth of the day. The composition emphasizes texture, with dynamic brushstrokes that breathe life into the scene. Notably, the focus is on the couple's backs, symbolizing a shared journey and the passage of time. Their simple attire and relaxed postures add authenticity, inviting viewers to reflect on themes of love, memory, and the beauty of enduring relationships. This piece stands out through its expressive technique and poignant narrative, making it both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
Presentation
Carole Leprince is a French artist born in 1966 who lives & works in Houilles, France. Over the years, her personal photos have been the inspiration for painting. She paints both those close to her and strangers in moving settings that can contribute to spontaneous attitudes. She is keen on painting beaches, streets or parties. These photos do not need to be perfect; they are only a basis for an aesthetic space where she can drift into, and end up with a creative work before her eyes as opposed to a replica of a photo. It's an enthralling work of commitment, where each painting turns into an equation to be solved. Carole Leprince trying to put forward a layout, a secret place where each person can tell or come up with their own story.
