"Wild Camomile" Oil Painting by French Artist Natalya Mougenot | Contemporary Floral Art on Cotton Stretched Canvas.

This vibrant square floral painting is part of her ongoing series devoted to flowers and their changing moods through the seasons, with a special dedication to the awakening energy of springtime.

Measuring 20 × 20 × 1.5 cm (approximately 7.9 × 7.9 × 0.6 inches), it is painted in oil on cotton stretched canvas, ready to hang right away with a tactile, intimate presence.

In this work, Natalya captures the wild joy of blooming white camomile (daisies) under March sunlight, inspired by her park walks in Lyon where these flowers smile like Alice in Wonderland, filling her with direct nature's encouragement and inspiration.

Her style is instantly recognizable: bold, confident strokes, visible texture, and a focus on emotion and movement rather than strict botanical realism. Each stroke feels spontaneous yet intentional, reflecting her authentic artistic vision.

As Natalya says, “Art is what you feel inside"—a motto that captures her intuitive, spontaneous approach, often completing works in a single sitting to preserve raw emotion. Her practice embodies metamodernism, blending hope and complexity to explore the human experience from the "inner adult" perspective.

She creates not just to sell, but to connect people through art, helping them feel human again—an escape from life's difficulties, a soul-to-soul dialogue: “I paint to speak from soul to soul. From my inner world to the one who feels."

Influenced by Vincent van Gogh's intensity, Paul Cézanne's structure, and Henri Matisse's color joy, Natalya reinterprets them in her contemporary language.

Despite its small size, “Wild Camomile" is a beautiful statement piece for any decoration—perfectly framed and ready to hang on walls or shelves. It suits art lovers of expressive modern florals, bright modern interiors, Scandinavian spaces, or eclectic bohemian homes seeking joyful, painterly spring energy.

About the artist:

Natalya Mougenot is a contemporary painter and photographer born in Kazakhstan and based in Lyon, France, where she has lived and worked for over two decades.

Her practice is driven by a pursuit of intensity — where color, gesture, and emotion converge to create a vivid, expressive visual language. Rooted in the legacy of modernist and post-impressionist painting, her work transcends influence to assert a distinctive, personal voice.

She creates with a clear intention: beyond bringing beauty into homes, her work seeks to offer a sense of solace and emotional renewal. In a world she perceives as increasingly harsh, her paintings become spaces of light, sensitivity, and quiet strength — an invitation to pause, to feel, and to reconnect.

Through floral compositions and portraits, she captures moments of raw vitality and inner movement, where structure and spontaneity exist in dynamic tension.

Her paintings are held in private collections, and her work is consistently featured in curated selections across international galleries and platforms. nooks, or bohemian spaces craving vivid, painterly warmth.
