In Faro di Camogli, the lighthouse on the Italian port's jetty rises amidst a space swept by winds and sea spray. More than a descriptive view, the work offers a dynamic interpretation of the site, where the white verticality of the tower contrasts with the oblique currents that sweep across the composition. Broad, linear, almost calligraphic gestures convey the circulation of air and atmospheric tension. Bluish and ochre masses blend in a continuous movement, suggesting rocks, sea, and bursts of foam without ever freezing them in detail. The material, enriched by collage and the integration of sand, gives certain areas a mineral density, reinforcing the sensation of a coastline battered by the elements. The lighthouse, firmly planted on the jetty, forms the structuring axis of the painting. Its presence orders the surrounding chaos and introduces stability within the movement. It does not dominate nature; it composes with it. Through this work, Alain explores the human impulse in the face of the power of natural forces. The lighthouse becomes a symbol of guidance and perseverance, affirming a human presence in an unstable space, where wind and sea constantly reshape the contours of the landscape.
