Lavender blossom, 2026

Olha Symonenko

In this work, I explore the ideas of resilience, groundedness, and quiet presence in a vibrant, constantly changing world. Here, the landscape becomes a metaphor for human consciousness seeking its inner center and anchor.
The conceptual and visual heart of the composition is the majestic tree, which stands as a powerful anchor. While the endless rows of lavender receding toward the horizon symbolize the dynamics of life, the passing of seasons, and the fluidity of time, this tree embodies stability, strength of spirit, and deep roots. The monumental mountains in the background, wrapped in a soft haze, complete this sense of security and eternity, creating a safe space for contemplation.
Working with an expressive, impasto technique, I sought to convey the tangible energy of nature—the warmth of the sun-baked earth, the movement of the air, and the ringing silence of the foothills. This painting is an invitation to slow down, attune to inner peace, and feel oneself as part of something enduring and beautiful.
