Description
This minimalist composition draws the tension between emptiness and boundary.
A deep blue frame anchors the image. It encloses a dark center. The colors merge in a subtle, atmospheric dance. Every edge remains precise.
The application of color is flat and controlled. This approach emphasizes the purity of the geometric form. The light appears to be absorbed by the dense color saturation of the canvas.
The result is a meditative space. It invites the viewer to a quiet, profound contemplation.
The balance between the inner darkness and the surrounding edge creates a rhythmic vibration.
This artwork focuses on the essence of color. It lays all narrative aside to reveal a structural truth. The interplay of dark tones evokes a feeling of infinite expanse.
The composition is based on a strict architectural logic. The blue border functions as a portal. It defines the boundaries of the field of vision and at the same time suggests an expansion beyond the frame. The matte surface underscores the sobriety of the work. It ensures a seamless transition between the different intensity areas.

Presentation
Klaus Hoffmann, born 1957
In his works, Klaus Hoffmann explores the interactions of colors and forms, the special color contrasts and the effect of pure monochrome color surfaces.
In doing so, he avoids figurative associations and orients himself towards the art movement of Concrete Art.
He mostly uses geometric forms, which can also show deviations and breaks.
His aim is to create works that only represent themselves and do not refer to things that are outside the pictorial space, in the visible world.
They should also enable a sensual experience of the colors and forms and their interactions.
He works with pure, high-quality pigments, which are rubbed into aqueous acrylic dispersion and applied in numerous thin layers to give the color surfaces depth and enhance their luminosity.
Self-primed raw linen, whose natural structure remains recognizable, serves as the picture support.
This incorporates the picture support into the work and creates an autonomous overall work.
Hoffmann was educated at the Wiesbadener Freie Kunstschule and Freie Kunstakademie Frankfurt, with a focus on painting, composition, and color theory.
