About the artwork
For Natalya Mougenot, painting is a way of expressing what is genuine. She believes that art should come from a place of honesty, without pretence or the need to reproduce reality exactly. What matters is the emotion, the energy, and the truth that a painting carries.
“I paint because it's a necessity for my soul. Creativity, for me, is about overcoming limitations."
Her love of bright colors comes from this desire for freedom of expression. Color is her language—a way to communicate feelings that words cannot always capture. Through vivid hues, spontaneous brushstrokes, and an intuitive approach, she creates paintings that invite viewers to feel rather than simply observe.
Influenced by the great masters Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, and Henri Matisse, Natalya has developed a personal artistic vocabulary. From Van Gogh's expressive brushwork, Cézanne's exploration of form through color, and Matisse's freedom and emotional use of color, she draws inspiration while remaining faithful to her own contemporary vision.

The painting measures 29.7 × 42 cm (11.7 × 16.5 in), corresponding to the standard A3 format. A standard A3 frame (29.7 × 42 cm) is therefore an easy option in places where frames are sold in centimetres.
In markets where frames are measured in inches, a 12 × 18 in frame with a mat/passe-partout is a practical option, with the mat cut to the artwork's exact dimensions. A custom frame can also be used for a precise, gallery-style presentation.
Presentation
Natalya is a contemporary french artist living in Lyon.
She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes.
She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country.
She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now.
In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism, which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult.
As an artist and as a woman she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion, is the pillar for the inner adult.
Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference.
She works rapidly and is constantly sensitive to the details.
Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach.
