"Twin Cacti" is an original contemporary botanical acrylic painting by French artist Natalya Mougenot, created in her expressive language of color, authenticity, and emotional truth.

Acrylic on professional acid-free paper.

About the artwork

For Natalya Mougenot, painting is a way of expressing what is genuine. She believes that art should come from a place of honesty, without pretence or the need to reproduce reality exactly. What matters is the emotion, the energy, and the truth that a painting carries.

“I paint because it's a necessity for my soul. Creativity, for me, is about overcoming limitations."

Her love of bright colors comes from this desire for freedom of expression. Color is her language—a way to communicate feelings that words cannot always capture. Through vivid hues, spontaneous brushstrokes, and an intuitive approach, she creates paintings that invite viewers to feel rather than simply observe.

Influenced by the great masters Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, and Henri Matisse, Natalya has developed a personal artistic vocabulary. From Van Gogh's expressive brushwork, Cézanne's exploration of form through color, and Matisse's freedom and emotional use of color, she draws inspiration while remaining faithful to her own contemporary vision.

“Authenticity is everything. People can always feel when something is real—or when it's not. I want my work to be honest, to come from a place that's true."

This belief is at the heart of Twin Cacti. The painting is not about creating a perfect botanical representation. It is about expressing the vitality of nature through color, movement, and feeling. The two cacti become a meeting point between the natural world and the artist's inner experience.

For those who love contemporary art, a painting can offer something more than a beautiful image. It can create a feeling, awaken a memory, or bring a sense of energy into a personal space. Natalya's work leaves room for each viewer to discover their own interpretation, because what is true in art can be felt differently by everyone.

“People live with art. They hang it in their homes, in their private spaces. I want my paintings to bring light, balance, and positive energy into everyday life."

Twin Cacti is an invitation to embrace color, individuality, and the beauty of an honest artistic gesture.
