Description
"Crimson Roses" — Original Contemporary Floral Oil Painting, 38 × 46 × 2 cm (15 × 18.1 × 0.8 in), by French Artist Natalya Mougenot
"Crimson Roses" is an original contemporary floral oil painting by French artist Natalya Mougenot, depicting a vibrant bouquet of deep crimson roses surrounded by rich green foliage and expressive touches of blue. Full of movement, colour and emotion, the painting transforms a familiar subject—the rose—into a powerful celebration of beauty, vitality and passion.
Rather than creating a traditional botanical representation, Natalya approaches the flowers through her own free and expressive artistic language. The roses are built from energetic layers of red and crimson, with visible brushstrokes giving each flower a sense of movement and life. Their imperfect, expressive forms make them feel spontaneous and alive, as though they are still unfolding before the viewer.
The deep red of the roses dominates the composition, evoking passion, love, intensity and strength, while the surrounding greens create a natural sense of balance. Vivid blue passages beneath and around the bouquet add unexpected contrast and depth, making the crimson flowers appear even more luminous.
As in Natalya's figurative work, authenticity and honesty are essential to her approach. She does not try to make the painting perfectly polished or photographically precise. She paints freely, intuitively and emotionally, allowing the brush to follow her feelings.
Her visible strokes, layered colours and spontaneous marks preserve the energy of the creative process. The painting is not simply an image of roses—it is Natalya's emotional interpretation of roses.
This freedom is at the heart of her unique artistic style. She allows colour to become an emotional language and uses gesture, texture and movement instead of relying on precise outlines. The result is expressive, contemporary and deeply personal.
Crimson Roses invites the viewer to experience flowers not only as objects of beauty, but as something emotional and almost alive—a burst of colour and energy that brings warmth, passion and joy into a space.
For Natalya, painting is an act of freedom: taking what she sees in the world and transforming it through her own emotions, colours and gestures into something entirely personal.

Presentation
Natalya is a contemporary  french artist living in Lyon. Â
She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes. Â
She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country.
She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now.
In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism, Â which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult. Â
As an artist and as a woman  she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion,  is the pillar for the inner adult. Â
Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference.
She works  rapidly  and is constantly sensitive  to the details. Â
Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach.
