Every crossing holds a possibility. Every gesture opens a path.
Destiny Matrix is an original contemporary painting by Indonesian artist Kang Samar, created in 2026 within his series.
A vibrant movement of orange and yellow travels diagonally through deep blue, turquoise and green. Intricate ornamental forms, expressive contours and scattered numerical inscriptions surround this luminous passage, creating a surface rich in rhythm and discovery.
From a distance, the painting offers a striking encounter between warm and cool colours. Viewed closely, its layered imagery reveals a more intimate world of symbols, connections and unfolding patterns.
The work invites a reading of destiny as something shaped through intention and experience. Its bright central movement suggests the courage to choose a direction, while the surrounding complexity evokes the many influences through which identity develops.
The artist's handwritten inscription on the reverse brings this reflection into focus:
“The matrix of destiny — is the pattern you paint your Self."
Kang Samar, born in Surabaya, Indonesia, in 1976, works across painting and a creative practice encompassing murals, sculpture, relief, batik and applied design.
His series draws on the imagery of Indonesian shadow puppetry to explore contemporary questions of love, loyalty, truth, conscience and personal destiny. Expressive colour and elaborate linear structures give these themes a distinctive visual presence.
In , symbolic detail meets flowing movement, offering a painting that rewards both immediate appreciation and sustained contemplation.
Hand-signed on the front in the lower-right area and on the reverse. The back includes the artist's handwritten title, series, year, dimensions, medium, certificate reference and personal message.
The painting comes with two certificates of authenticity, issued respectively by Kang Samar and Abstract Art Gallery.
The artwork benefits from a lifetime gallery guarantee, under the applicable gallery terms, with ongoing assistance for documentation and care guidance.
Unframed. Carefully shipped flat in reinforced XPS protection or rolled in a protective tube, depending on the texture and surface characteristics of the artwork. Shipping is insured for transit.
Presentation
Kang Samar is an Indonesian painter born in 1976 in Surabaya, East Java. Inspired by wayang kulit, the traditional shadow theatre, he creates colourful paintings in which characters become expressions of love, courage, loyalty and inner conflict.
His figures inhabit intricate compositions filled with flowing lines, expressive faces and ornamental details. Brilliant yellows meet deep greens and luminous blues, while red accents bring intensity to the unfolding scene. The eye moves from one character to another, discovering relationships within a surface rich in movement.
At the heart of his practice is the belief that traditional stories can illuminate contemporary experience. His paintings explore the choices we make, the bonds we preserve and the tension between what we inherit and what we become. Works such as Destiny Matrix and Kindred Spirit invite viewers to find their own emotional connections within these symbolic encounters.
Samar brings more than fifteen years of experience in creative arts and craftsmanship to his painting. His activities have included murals in Central Java, garden reliefs and sculptures, batik production in Bali, and clothing design and screen printing. This varied background gives his work a sustained attention to handmade detail and the rhythm of patterned surfaces.
Presented by Abstract Art Gallery, Riga, Kang Samar offers a personal interpretation of Indonesian theatrical imagery, creating paintings that reward both immediate visual discovery and closer contemplation.
