Description
“Morning in a coastal town" is a contemporary painting about the warmth of home, the beauty of everyday life, and the small stories hidden behind windows. Before the viewer unfolds a sunlit southern landscape: blue water, boats, light-colored houses, green hills, and a vivid sky. Yet the true protagonists are not so much the coastal town itself as the people who live there. Each window reveals a different fragment of life: family, friendship, love, care, everyday routines, and quiet moments spent alone with one's thoughts.
One of the distinctive features of the work is the use of mirrored strips to create the illusion of a large window, making the painting itself seem like yet another window. This creates a striking sense of presence: we, the viewers, seem to be looking through our own window at the southern town and its inhabitants. At the same time, a more mysterious thought emerges: what if this is not someone else's town at all? Perhaps we ourselves live in this coastal town and are simply looking out from our own window at the familiar life around us. The mirrored elements literally draw the viewer into the space of the painting, blurring the boundary between the real interior and the depicted world.
The windows within the painting transform the town's facades into a mosaic of human stories. In one, a family gathers for breakfast; in another, a grandmother spends the morning with a child. Someone is choosing an outfit, someone is welcoming a new day, while cats are peacefully settled nearby. Each window becomes a small stage, while the entire southern town becomes a vast living space where dozens of everyday events are taking place, mostly unseen by us.
This is a work of contemporary art combining elements of surrealism, narrative painting, decorative art, and visual storytelling, allowing familiar reality to take on a slightly magical quality.
Its vivid color palette makes it a striking piece of wall art, capable of filling a space with light, air, and the feeling of a distant southern morning. The painting is especially well suited to modern, eclectic, Mediterranean, or country-style interiors.
Presentation
Irina: "I am full-time artist. I find my happiness in doing art. Art is a part of my soul, my energy, my vision of the world. I consider myself a multi-faceted artist, I like to experiment with materials. I realized that I can create beauty not only with paints. I create three-dimensional artworks with volumetric elements. I work in two directions: mosaic paintings and wall sculpture art. I use decorative found objects, mosaic, plaster, wood, shells, crystals, gemstones, anything that can realize my ideas. My art is full of life and joy. The main theme is a Woman, her life, thoughts, feelings, relationships with people and the world".
