Description
This canvas is executed in a pronounced impasto manner, in which the paint is applied in thick layers, creating relief and texture. The painting depicts two figures, an adult and a child.
The central figure has a softly outlined face without clear details, which lends the image a sense of tenderness and generalization. The clothing is rendered in wavy strokes of pink, lilac, cream and blue tones.
The child to the right of the central figure is smaller, also with a simplified, almost doll-like face. The child's clothing stands out in strokes of blue and purple that echo harmoniously the palette of the whole work.
The background is almost monochrome and light, with occasional strokes that recall clouds or blurred fragments of space. This heightens the sense of lightness and dreaminess.
Overall, the painting looks tender, atmospheric and somewhat fairy-tale-like. The figures resemble symbolic or fantastical characters, created more by emotion and color than by detail.
