Guillaume Vervandier

France Born in: 1984

Musician since my childhood, I loved to compose pieces or successions of chords. As soon as abstract art imposed itself on me, I understood that painting could also bring me a lot and it gradually took place in my life.

"Self-taught, I work during my initiatory journey, the effects of materials, various projections and flat areas of color. Acrylic paint has become my preferred medium because its characteristics as well as the intensity of its colors give me freedom. expression of my emotions and are perfectly suited to my artistic approach.

The genesis of my paintings comes from a body to body with the canvas where a very constructed and structured part will take a central place in the painting. I work this part until it comes to life through its nuances, its materials or its shapes. The composition of this part called "expressive" is done naturally according to what arises. The effects of transparency and the layers of paint give depth to the canvas which I perceive as the successive planes of a photographic composition.

Gradually, the environment which encompasses it should appear logical, intuitive and balanced while reinforcing the tensions that emerge from the canvas. The opposition of the vibrations brought by this part to the flat areas of paint accentuates the transmission of energies by the color.

The work is completed when the whole of the canvas seems harmonious to me without any nuance disturbing the look. It thus represents the emotions that I felt during its realization. "
