Description
"Tourbillon" is a black-and-white architectural photograph by Mario Tarantino, inspired by the hypnotic geometry of a spiral staircase viewed from below.
With each repetition, the architecture gradually shifts towards abstraction, a pattern of light and shadow, straight and curved lines. What was ordinarily a car park staircase is reimagined as a tourbillon of steel, resembling that of a mechanical watch.
This monochrome photograph is printed using archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a 308gsm acid and lignin-free 100% cotton paper. Its smooth matte surface carries the full range of the image, from the deep shadows of the outer rings to the brilliant white at its centre, holding both the movement and the detail of the photograph with exceptional clarity.
"Tourbillon" is issued in a limited edition of only 10, each print personally inspected by Mario before being named, numbered and hand-signed. Every fine art print is accompanied by a stamped and signed certificate of authenticity, ensuring its provenance.
