Magenta Meteor, 2026

Sadie Weis

The artist has developed a unique hybrid pricess combining element from both painting and printmaking, which she deems, 'Polymonotype', to create depth on a flat surface with multiple layers of hand-painted images. printed throuh a screen with interferencce pigmnats that change color as one moves through the work.

A magnetic tension defines this abstract composition. A central mass of deep magenta and violet pulses with organic energy. Swirls of pigment blend into rich, bruised tones. The texture appears fluid and visceral. Sharp geometric shards pierce this amorphous form. These translucent blue planes introduce a rigid architectural contrast. They slice through the soft edges with clinical precision. A pale wash of cream rises above the core. It suggests a distant horizon or a fading light. This vertical gradient creates a sense of weightlessness. The artwork balances raw emotion with calculated structure. It explores the friction between nature and geometry. Each layer adds a new dimension of depth. The pale background amplifies the intensity of the saturated center. Subtle shifts in hue move from electric purple to muted plum. The composition remains suspended in a neutral void. This void focuses the gaze on the collision of shapes. The interaction of organic flow and linear sharpness creates a silent, vibrating harmony.
