About the artwork

Artwork sold in perfect condition

This sculpture is part of a series of wood sculptures "The Beauty of Walnut Wood" in which I explore the texture, contrast and form of walnut wood, chiseled on the cross sections of the wood, on the head of the fibers , where the wood is very hard but reveals its dynamic beauty of growth. The diversity and nature of the medium constantly provides both the challenge and the inspiration to push the boundaries. To fly, one of man's greatest dreams: to fly. From childhood dreams to flying across seas and countries in commercial aircraft, space exploration or, more recently, space tourism, our appetite for air seems insatiable.

Sculptors Artists

Romanian artists

I am not represented by an art gallery and I have not presented any work on Artsper, until now. .

 I am a freelance artist, art enthusiast, self-taught painter and sculptor. I am an economist by profession, I am qualified as an accountant and independent financial auditor, a liberal profession but the love for art has never left him.

 I was born in a small mountain village, Ciuta - Buzau county, Romania, where people's occupations were related to stone carving, so I learned the craft of direct carving.

I made the leap from the craft of direct stone carving to the artistic representation of a meeting, as a child, with the Romanian sculptor George Apostu, whom I saw carving in stone some strange shapes, which did not resemble what the stone carvers made of my white village (Ciuta- Romania).

 I've been looking for the answer for the rest of my life ever since.

 I gathered information to understand the art of sculpting and painting "with the lasso", took art classes, read a lot about contemporary visual art as a philosophy and practice, drew, painted and sculpted constantly since childhood.

 I trained in art classes, studied the phenomenon of contemporary visual art, read a lot, visited museums and art galleries in Europe and New York.

 I am one of those sculptors who insists on making art in the traditional way, but without rejecting contemporary trends.

 The contemporaneity of my sculpture consists in the possibility of telling new messages with established techniques, moving from form to content, becoming an ideational art in which the concept takes precedence.

 In some of my sculptures, I take the narrative context of legends from ancient Greek civilization and place them in different contexts, suggesting movement in metamorphosis, to create completely new meanings and evoke completely different emotions, a way of seeing again in modern times .

I am an active member of the Sculpture network in Europe.

I frequently participate in online or physical international exhibitions, as was the case at the Florence Art Biennale that took place between October 23 and 31, 2021 at Fortezza da Basso;
