Description
This intriguing sculpture is distinguished by its harmonious combination of materials and geometric forms. The sturdy, rectangular base features a striped pattern that creates a dynamic contrast with the metallic elegance of the upper part. Above it rises a slender body, reinforced by alternating bands of wood and resin, symbolizing an uninterrupted ascent towards abstraction. The top of the work is crowned by a shiny brass head with organic contours, evoking a stylized face. This juxtaposition of straight lines and fluid curves gives the sculpture a captivating visual tension, inviting the viewer to reflect on the balance between rigidity and fluidity. Contemporary sculptor, Stéphane Szendy shapes wood, bronze, resin, glass and enamel with a mastery worthy of a jeweler. Drawing his inspiration from nature and the history of art, he creates stylized works with clean lines, evoking totems or timeless trophies. Each sculpture is distinguished by a subtle play of textures and patinas, giving a unique depth to his creations.
Trained in Fine Arts and heir to family know-how, Szendy Stéphane cultivates an extreme attention to detail, even to the bases of his works. His work, marked by a rigor and a rare artistic sensitivity, transcends the material to arouse emotion and contemplation. Since 2000, he has exhibited in numerous fairs and participates each year in Maison & Objet. Distinguished by the Arts-Sciences-Lettres medal in 2011, he has been a member of the Ateliers d'Art de France since 2006.
