In this new series, the artist is interested in the TAT (Thematic Apperception Test) a test developed by clinical psychologist Henry Alexander Murray. The TAT is recognized as an image interpretation technique which consists in having the patient tell a story from a series of boards each representing an ambiguous situation. Carmen uses the TAT technique on the viewer. As a result, she delegates to him the responsibility of projecting his own imagination, his biography and other psychological characteristics from the observation of the works. Thus, the artist places the viewer in a situation of discomfort by letting him question the representation and interpretation of the painted images.

Carmen González Castro's work focuses on the human body. Reviewing themes from mythology, Carmen questions the current canons of beauty and the perception that we have now compared to other times. Her realistic painting is of a New Figurative type. Her portraits are not hyper-realistic, she makes frequent use of warping.
