Description
This arresting artwork is a vivid exploration of color and abstract form, executed with remarkable confidence and a daring palette. Dominating the composition is a vibrant juxtaposition of intense reds and lush greens. The upper portion is characterized by rich, deep green hues that suggest the vitality of nature, possibly alluding to a dense forest canopy or an evocative landscape. These greens transition seamlessly into the bold crimson and magenta strokes that occupy the majority of the canvas. The dynamic brushwork is evident, characterized by sweeping, fluid applications and an almost visceral energy. The intermingling of reds with sporadic inclusions of greens and yellows creates a striking sense of movement and depth. This results in a textured tableau that evokes raw emotions and stimulates the imagination. Amidst the abstract forms, there appears to be a slightly discernible vertical delineation that adds a structural element to the otherwise free-flowing composition. This subtle division could hint at a horizon line or a fleeting boundary between two realms, enhancing the intrigue and interpretative possibilities of the piece. This artwork stands as a testament to the artist's prowess in wielding color to evoke mood and atmosphere. The bold use of reds against greens operates on a sophisticated level, creating a vibrant visual tension that captures the viewer's gaze with unwavering intensity. The painting exudes a sense of passionate exuberance and conveys an undeniable emotional resonance, making it an unforgettable visual experience.
Presentation
Doïna Vieru is an Ecuadorian-Moldavian artist born in 1978 who lives & works in France, Paris. She always preferred pas/pas/passionately the image to the word and all this despite crises of Bartlébysme. Between "I would prefer not to", pencils, papers, pvc or metal and other sharp instruments, the game remains his eternal favorite. After studying at the Chisinau Art Academy in Moldavia and Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris, France, she left Europe for Ecuador where she developed her own artistic language between mountains and jungle. Her return to 2019 in Paris is marked by an event-hanging at the Nesle gallery where she presented drawings on the three levels of the gallery. Her work, which has been exhibited regularly in Ecuador, Mexico, France, Romania and Moldova, still deals with the inexpressible. It's a kind of hide-and-seek game, to say and shut up.
Her production is serial: she paints on herself, on her pregnancies, to the rhythm of Tchaikovsky's Opus 35 or in the melanomaniac search for black. In the last series of drawings it is a question of hiding and destroying poetry by freely playing on large photographic paper with layers-history - palimpsests - superimposed where unintelligible writing mixes with charcoal, ink, with white acrylics and black stone. It is the rewriting of the disaster, a direct reference to the work of Maurice Blanchot: "When all is said, what remains to be said is the disaster, ruin of speech, failure in writing, rumor that murmurs: this which remains without remainder."
