Natalya Mougenot   Best sellers

This captivating piece, titled "Southern France Serenity", was created by French artist Natalya Mougenot as a heartfelt tribute to the south of France, particularly the enchanting village of Collioure. Known for its rich artistic atmosphere, Collioure has long inspired painters and houses numerous art galleries. It was a place of great creative energy for many artists, including the renowned Henri Matisse. Natalya, who was deeply moved by the unique charm of Collioure during her trip there, channeled this inspiration into her vibrant work upon returning to Lyon. Once back in her studio, she picked up her brushes to depict the village in her own expressive way.

The piece portrays a stunning coastal cityscape at sunset, rendered with bold, impressionistic brushstrokes. Warm shades of orange, pink, and yellow dominate the composition, infusing the buildings with a radiant glow against the contrasting cool tones of the sky and sea. A large, luminous sun sets behind the structures, casting a mesmerizing reflection on the gently rippling water. Through dynamic, swirling strokes, the artist conveys a sense of movement and energy in both the clouds and the waves. The dark greenery interspersed among the buildings adds depth, anchoring the composition in nature.

This work blends abstract expressionism with hints of realism, creating a striking and evocative portrayal of the fleeting beauty of dusk. The interplay of light and color invites the viewer to experience the serene yet dynamic atmosphere of a seaside town at sunset.
