Natalya Mougenot   Best sellers

This, the modern, vibrant abstract expressionist floral painting “Lavender of Provence" was created by French artist Natalya Mougenot and forms part of her ongoing series devoted to the exploration of nature and floral compositions. In this piece, Natalya draws inspiration from Provence, the sun-drenched region of southern France, known for its iconic lavender fields and luminous landscapes. As she explains, “authenticity in art comes from allowing the brush to speak as honestly as the heart feels it." This philosophy is palpable in every stroke of the painting, where honesty and spontaneity converge with deliberate compositional intent.

This artwork is a lively explosion of color that immediately commands attention. Dominated by bold purples, blues, and greens, the composition is a dazzling study in floral abstraction. Natalya's brushstrokes are confident and expressive, embodying her belief that “expressionism is not just technique—it is the dialogue between the artist and the canvas." The textured layers convey movement, as though the flowers themselves are swaying in a gentle breeze, while the interplay of cooler hues with warm reds and yellows creates a dynamic tension that energizes the scene.

The painting's abstract nature invites multiple interpretations, offering a captivating visual experience that is at once chaotic and harmonious. Each layer of color is a testament to the artist's mastery over her medium, where vivid, bold tones evoke vitality, emotion, and the ephemeral beauty of nature. “Color is the soul of a painting," Natalya asserts, and in “Lavender of Provence," the vibrancy of her palette fully realizes this belief, making the piece both evocative and mesmerizing.

This work celebrates the power of color and form to convey emotion, while reflecting the artist's unwavering commitment to authenticity, expression, and the transformative potential of art. Through her abstract lens, Natalya invites the viewer to experience the light, scent, and spirit of Provence, where every stroke and hue resonates with life and feeling.
