Contemporary abstract sculptural painting – large format – unique piece
This work is a large-format contemporary sculptural painting, the result of extensive research where matter becomes language, rhythm, and depth. The surface is not painted in the traditional sense: it is constructed, modeled, and layered over time, until it achieves a controlled visual tension and an almost architectural presence.
Textures emerge in successive layers, revealing subtle reliefs and variations in density that interact intensely with light. Depending on the angle of observation and the lighting, the work transforms: some areas absorb light, others reflect it with deep chromatic intensity, creating a constant visual movement.
The palette is based on professional, highly stable artist-grade pigments, selected for their depth, durability, and ability to evolve optically over time. These pigments are combined with museum-quality technical art media and advanced surface treatments used in high-end contemporary practices.

About the artist
Maria Ruisi, born in 1983, is a design engineer, researcher and contemporary artist.
Since 2018, she has been conducting continuous artistic research around materials, textures, pigments and light, combining scientific rigor and artistic sensitivity.
His work is distinguished by a demanding experimental approach: each piece is built over time, in successive phases, regularly incorporating new materials, new treatments, and new layers. This extended timeframe allows him to achieve a rare visual depth and strong material coherence.
