Artwork location: France

Contemporary Neo-Expressionist floral still life with Fauvist chromatic influence, expressive mixed-media painting on heavyweight professional acid-free paper (50 × 65 cm / 19.7 × 25.6 inches), combining acrylic paint and acrylic markers in a vibrant, high-energy palette of luminous pinks, electric blues, saturated greens, and vivid neon accents—where color is liberated from realism and gesture becomes the core language of the work.

In Blooming Aura, French artist Natalya Art develops a distinctive and highly personal technique that contributes directly to the uniqueness of her style. The painting is constructed in two intentional stages: first, expressive acrylic paint is applied in bold, spontaneous gestures; then, once the surface is dry, she returns with acrylic markers to redraw, interrupt, and intensify the composition.

“I like to come back into the painting," Natalya explains. “Not to correct it, but to react to it."

This second layer is essential. The drawn lines do not simply outline forms—they activate them. They emphasize movement, re-interpret brushstrokes, and introduce a new rhythm that exists in tension with the painted surface beneath. This creates a dialogue between painting and drawing, between impulse and response.

What makes Natalya's style unique lies precisely in this process: she does not stop at the first gesture—she re-enters the work, transforming it from within.

“I want the viewer to see both moments," she says. “The first energy, and then the second one that pushes it further."

This approach also reflects a conscious position within today's visual landscape. In her recent paintings, Natalya embraces this layered, visible process as a way to affirm the presence of the human hand in an era increasingly shaped by artificial image-making.

“I want people to see that a human was here," she explains. “Every brushstroke, every line, every mark carries a decision, a hesitation, a feeling. That cannot be replicated."

Rather than smoothing or hiding the process, she intentionally reveals it. The eye can follow each movement—paint, pause, return, transformation—making time itself visible on the surface.

The result is a layered visual language where depth is not only spatial, but temporal and emotional. Acrylic markers sharpen contrasts and reinforce immediacy, cutting across color fields, sometimes following the brushstroke, sometimes resisting it. This tension creates vibration and keeps the surface alive.

“I don't want harmony to be too easy," Natalya reflects. “I want something that moves, that resists a little."

This technique places her work beyond traditional Fauvism and closer to a contemporary Neo-Expressionist approach—yet even within that context, her method stands apart. The deliberate combination of wet expressive painting and dry graphic intervention creates a hybrid language that is both instinctive and constructed.

In Blooming Aura, the bouquet becomes more than a subject—it becomes a field of interaction between layers, gestures, and time. The painting is not fixed; it reveals its own evolution.

“Art should feel like it's still happening," Natalya says. “And for me, that happens when I can come back into it and make it evolve."

This commitment to visibility, authenticity, and human presence defines Natalya Art's work—positioning it as a powerful and singular response to a world where images are increasingly generated, but rarely lived.

Presentation

Natalya is a contemporary  french artist living in Lyon.

She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes.

She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country.

She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now.

In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism,  which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult.

As an artist and as a woman  she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion,  is the pillar for the inner adult.

Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference.

She works  rapidly  and is constantly sensitive  to the details.

Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach.
