Description
The black and precise line defines a familiar silhouette. A candle melts slowly under the effect of its own heat. The wax flows in thick drops. The style borrows from comic book codes to create a striking contrast.
The artist uses spray paint here with great technical mastery. A dark halo rises vertically from the flame. This diffused smoke stretches towards the top of the support. It creates an atmospheric depth on the neutral background.
The acrylic brings graphic sharpness to the contours. The interplay between the precision of the drawing and the blur of the spray structures the composition. The whole plays on an immediate visual simplicity.
This painting created in 2023 explores the balance between street art and plastic art. The canvas is presented in a sober black frame which emphasizes the centered composition. The final rendering relies on an economy of means for a direct visual impact.
