"Provençal Summer" is an original Contemporary Expressionist oil painting with Fauvist influences by French artist Natalya Mougenot, created on a professionally stretched cotton canvas. Measuring 50 × 50 × 3.5 cm (19.7 × 19.7 × 1.4 inches), this one-of-a-kind artwork is ready to hang.

Inspired by the enchanting landscapes of Provence in the South of France, the painting captures the peaceful beauty of a warm summer day. Graceful cypress trees rise toward a luminous turquoise sky, while golden fields glow beneath the Mediterranean sun. Through expressive brushstrokes and vibrant hues of emerald green, olive, turquoise, and golden yellow, Natalya evokes the timeless charm of the Provençal countryside, where nature, light, and color exist in perfect harmony.

Natalya Mougenot draws inspiration from Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, and Henri Matisse, while developing a visual language that is unmistakably her own. Her paintings are characterized by bold color harmonies, energetic brushwork, and simplified forms that convey emotion rather than literal detail. Each composition is created intuitively, allowing spontaneity and authenticity to guide the creative process. Her artistic practice is rooted in honesty and a genuine emotional connection to the places she paints, resulting in works that feel both vibrant and deeply personal.

"I don't seek to reproduce nature exactly as it appears. I paint the emotions, memories, and light that remain with me long after I leave a place. My hope is that every painting brings joy, warmth, and a sense of wonder into someone's everyday life." — Natalya Mougenot

Provençal Summer will resonate with collectors who appreciate Contemporary Expressionism, Fauvism, modern Impressionism, and expressive landscape painting. It is especially suited to art lovers who are drawn to the warmth of the Mediterranean, the beauty of Provence, and artworks that celebrate color, optimism, and the emotional power of nature.

Its luminous palette makes it a striking addition to a modern, contemporary, Scandinavian, Mediterranean, eclectic, or minimalist interior. Whether displayed in a living room, dining room, bedroom, entryway, or vacation home, Provençal Summer brings the radiant light, joyful spirit, and timeless beauty of Southern France into any space.
