It was in 2010 under an iodized pseudonym, "Ziph-King", that the artist hoisted the mainsail of the photographic adventure. And it's a homecoming. Because in the past, he was a painter he aspired to become. On the same cove where he had deposited his brushes and tubes of paint fifteen years earlier, he is armed with a digital box. Start at zero. Drunkenness rediscovered, that of the open sea, the blank page and the bohemian. The first orders fall. Staging, frescoes and then the very pictorial portraits. Duchesses, artists, castaways, politicians, nymphs and neighbors. Invariably meetings that reinforced the idea that he had found his place:
“The portrait. This is the reason why I decided to quit a“ real job. ”The portrait is alchemy. A mixture of technique and speculation. Light to capture the thrilling. A process which will never lead to a certainty, and that is the beauty of the exercise ".
Today his work, which he readily qualifies as a “pirate constituent”, has found an echo in the artistic soundbox of a growing circle of “artists”. And it is now under his real name that he signs his photographic paintings, those he proudly calls his "misdeeds".
