Fanny Finkelman Szyller

Assembler Violeta N°3, by Fanny Finkelman Szyller, Polished aluminum, metal, acrylic, found objects on aluminum, Dimensions: 40 H x 40 W x 14D cm. 2021.

This artwork presents a striking composition of concentric circles, each layer providing a distinct interplay of texture and color. At its core is a metallic component, evoking industrial precision and complexity. Surrounding this centerpiece is a vibrant purple disc, creating a powerful contrast with the metallic hues. Encapsulating these layers is a rugged, dark ring, which introduces an organic, textured element to the piece. The outermost circle is a sleek, smooth surface, providing a stark, serene boundary. The meticulous balance of industrial materials with bold, vibrant colors and textures establishes a dynamic tension and harmony within the artwork. Its geometric precision and material diversity invite viewers to contemplate the juxtaposition of technology and nature. The piece is both minimalistic and richly detailed, capturing the viewer’s attention with its innovative integration of form and material.

Fanny Finkelman's sculptures are the result of a continuous exploration of the many materials with which the artist has worked over the years. The artist's three-dimensional sculptures are full of transparency through the combination of various materials and objects that have been thrown away. Adding color to each piece is essential, but within the aesthetic context that controls the final form.
