Description
Kolomiyets’ Silence No.6 is a minimalist reflection on calm and emptiness. A pool glimmers in the foreground, beyond it a pink terrace and the calm horizon of sea and sky. On the terrace rests a single lounge chair, unoccupied, while two palm trees rise against the expansive blue. The scene is perfectly balanced, yet its emptiness creates a subtle tension.
The composition belongs to the artist’s Silence series, strongly influenced by David Hockney’s poolside paintings. Yet Kolomiyets infuses the motif with a quieter, more contemplative atmosphere. The bright palette and simplified geometry evoke summer leisure, while the absence of human figures transforms the image into a meditation on solitude.
Silence No.6 offers collectors a work that is both decorative and psychological. It is a painting of stillness, a modern seascape where leisure is portrayed as silence rather than spectacle.
