Description
Ruslan Kolomiyets’ Yellow is a powerful work that captures the viewer through its daring chromatic intensity. A rural structure, reminiscent of a farmhouse or barn, appears at the center, while the rest of the composition dissolves into a cascade of gestural marks, splatters, and sweeping textures. The overwhelming presence of yellow, punctuated by bright reds and cool blues, makes the scene vibrate with energy and emotion.
Though figurative elements are present, the artist places equal emphasis on abstraction and gesture. The result is a landscape filtered through memory and feeling, not description. The expressive layering of paint and the use of bold color fields demonstrate Kolomiyets’ ability to transform a familiar motif into a radiant, almost otherworldly vision.
This painting embodies vitality and movement while retaining the grounding presence of architectural form. It is a statement piece that will brighten and energize any collection, offering a balance of structure and freedom that is emblematic of Kolomiyets’ style.
