Description
Moon Race 2 presents a twilight regatta, where boats glide across the water under tall sails tinted by evening light. Ruslan Kolomiyets balances precision and atmosphere, capturing the calm surface of the sea as well as the subtle energy of competition. The horizon glows with gradations of pink, coral, and violet, while the sails emerge in translucent shades of blue.
The artist uses watercolour to express both lightness and depth. Transparent layers reveal shifting tones in the sky, while gentle washes capture the stillness of water. At the same time, the tilted sails suggest movement and anticipation, turning the race into a poetic moment suspended between day and night.
Kolomiyets has long explored themes of landscape and maritime life. In this painting, he distills them into a composition that feels immediate yet timeless. Collectors drawn to sailing, sport, or seascape subjects will find in Moon Race 2 a work that unites technical mastery with a quietly emotional presence.
