Description
Here, as usual, form precedes content. It is initially graphic intentions that create the painting. Then, meaning is layered in. The tear is added above the river that forms the nose, and eventually, one can see a critique of forest overexploitation.
The features are emphasized – a prominent nose, full lips, and piercing eyes – evoking a range of emotions and reflections. The background, less defined, seems to suggest various motifs and abstract shapes, which enhances the visual impact of the face. A distinctive aspect of this work is its use of texture. The visible brushstrokes add a tactile dimension, giving life and movement to the surface. The fluidity of lines contrasted with the rigidity of geometric forms gives the piece a captivating visual complexity. Additional elements on the right side of the work form a series of circles, adding a touch of symmetry to this organized chaos. These may symbolize infinity or simply serve as a harmonious counterpoint to the asymmetry of the central face. Overall, this piece is a vibrant exploration of human emotion, blending abstraction with figuration, and inviting each viewer to a personal interpretation. The work stands out for its ability to harmoniously blend disarray and beauty, capturing the very essence of contemporary art.
Presentation
FROM CHAOS TO THE LIVING BEING
When I paint or draw, I start from chaos, I begin to paint spontaneously simple elements, forms, lines, surfaces arranged without preconceived ideas on the canvas. These elements intertwine, associate and give birth to complex forms. I reveal then by drawing on this bottom: figures, members, bodies, objects.
This creates diversified characters, which come from the chaos and inscribe their reality. It is a spontaneous, physical and spiritual act.
