Description
A striking zoom on a detail of the face. The gaze fixes on fleshy lips, highlighted by a vibrant red. The line is straightforward. The shapes are simplified to make way for chromatic intensity.
The artist uses pastel to sculpt the light. Touches of deep blue and solar yellow come to fragment the surface. This play of contrasts creates an almost tactile relief. The background, of a tender pink and an acid green, isolates the subject in a dreamlike space.
This composition is part of a research into the beauty of the everyday. It transforms a banal act of beautification into a graphic and modern object. The fatty quality of the pastel brings a rich texture, accentuating the velvety aspect of the skin and the shine of the makeup.
The work captures the essence of contemporary fashion. It prioritizes visual impact and the strength of the pigment. The tight framing imposes an immediate proximity to the subject. The drawing ends with a precise outline that separates the silhouette from the colored plane.
