Description
This contemporary expressionist still life painting depicting lemons was created by French artist Natalya Mougenot and is part of her ongoing series exploring the vitality of everyday objects. “I seek authenticity in every stroke, favoring raw emotion over preconceived plans or rigid structures," says the artist.
This artwork reflects Mougenot's intuitive approach and her personal interpretation of colors. She focuses on the energy and beauty of nature, particularly the radiant allure of lemons. A cluster of lemons rests in a deep blue dish, their bright yellow tones contrasting vividly with bold vertical stripes in the background. Mougenot worked rapidly, vividly, and freely, concentrating on the movement and mood of her hands. “I trust myself completely and enjoy full experimentation. The key is to immerse myself into creativity and see what it will give me as a result in the end," she explains.
The painting bursts with lively texture and vibrant colors, with touches of white highlighting the lemons' luminescence. The background pulses with greens, oranges, and blues, infusing the scene with depth and movement. Through this expressive use of color and texture, Mougenot transforms a simple still life into a captivating visual experience that celebrates the beauty in simplicity, inviting the viewer to enjoy life's small pleasures.

Presentation
Natalya is a contemporary  french artist living in Lyon. Â
She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes. Â
She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country.
She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now.
In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism, Â which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult. Â
As an artist and as a woman  she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion,  is the pillar for the inner adult. Â
Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference.
She works  rapidly  and is constantly sensitive  to the details. Â
Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach.
