This captivating work presents a series of boats floating in an ethereal atmosphere, where shades of green and blue dominate the painting, evoking a calm, misty sea. The artist employs a delicate layering technique, creating subtle depth and rich texture. Encaustic (wax painting, worked hot, by mixing pigments with hot, fluid wax) is a demanding technique, yet one that offers unique depths and textures. The brushstrokes are both light and dynamic, conveying a sense of simultaneous movement and tranquility. The dark silhouettes of the figures in the foreground add an intriguing human dimension; like soldiers returning from war, they suggest introspection, the end of the struggle.
Presentation
Of Italian origin, Lucia Diris devoted herself from a young age to painting, drawing and graphic art, studying the basics of which she studied in Urbino, at the prestigious Higher Institute of Decorative Arts (ISIA), in Italy.
After her studies, she went to France where she pursued a multifaceted career combining painting, graphic design, cinema, video, photography, ceramics….
Over the years, thanks to the knowledge gained from all these practices, his pictorial work will evolve from figuration towards an increasingly free and refined abstraction.
