This work was published for the first time by Folha de Sao Paulo, then Trip magazine, Glamour magazine and Casa Vogue.

"When the virus arrived in Italy, at Lombardy region, there was still no pandemy. Initially, we've been two weeks without schools, museums closed and canceled events. Still not aware about what was happening and the seriousness of the situation, we could leave the house, go to public places and move between cities.
By the end of the second week, we were already on lockdown through Italy. We couldn't leave the house and only essential services were able to work.

Squares, parks, cafes and gardens, which served as meeting points, suddenly disappeared from our lives. And the windows, which were already important to us, became our only contact with the street.

On the day the lockdown was enacted, I watched my companion stand for a few minutes looking at the empty streets. She stayed longer than usual looking out. I imagined what this scene would look like from the outside and decided to do something that would help me understand what we were about to go through.

I made an announcement on an application that connects neighbors inviting people to appear by their window to be photographed by me. The response to the call was very positive and I quickly had 20 windows / people scheduled.

For a month, I repeated the same process. I left the house late in the afternoon, crossed empty streets and avenues until I reached the agreed address, exchanged signs and looks with the person, prepared the equipment and prepared myself to photograph. Usually, they were already waiting for me and saw me coming from far. For a few minutes, they looked at me from the window and I photographed them. And from each look, a feeling stood out. Despair, resignation, hope, sadness, fear, cooperation, generosity, anger, indignation, among many others. They are people I've met, if we can say so, from afar. They looked at me from their window with complicity, generosity and hope. And now they look at you."
