Description
This work diverts an everyday industrial element to make it a sculpture that is both minimalist and intriguing. A white wall-mounted faucet, equipped with a bright red handle, lets out not water, but a long, shiny black drop that seems frozen in time.
The contrast between the immaculate white of the faucet, the vibrant red of the valve, and the deep black of the drop creates a strong graphic composition. The lacquered finish reinforces the impression of fluidity and gives the material an almost liquid appearance, despite its immobility.
At the intersection of pop art and contemporary art, this sculpture plays with the codes of the functional object to question the notions of leakage, loss, pollution, or even the waste of resources. The black drop can evoke oil, ink, or an indefinable substance, leaving the viewer with great freedom of interpretation.
Both streamlined and striking, this creation immediately attracts the eye and brings a resolutely contemporary touch to an interior, transforming a banal object into a work with strong symbolic power.
Presentation
Santicri was born in 1992 in Macerata, in the Marche region of Italy. Trained as a surveyor and then as an architect, he developed a sensitivity for forms, structures and materials at an early age. This technical rigor, combined with a boundless imagination, naturally led him to sculpture.
Driven by a profound creative freedom, Santicri explores matter, movement, and texture. His works reflect a constant dialogue between construction and emotion, precision and spontaneity. Each piece is born from a poetic impulse, an intuition that the artist shapes to achieve the perfect balance between form and sensation.
Through his work, Santicri invites us into a colorful and sensitive universe, where modernism meets the sweetness of dreams. He seeks to convey what his eyes perceive beyond the visible: a subtle harmony between poetry and structure, between gesture and thought.
