Within the narrative progression of the third movement—"Act III. The Code of the Ballpoint Drawings (The Secret Messages)"—the work "Japoneses II" anchors the thematic section dedicated to "Explicit Violence and the Breaking of Silence". Standing as one of the most emotionally charged pieces in the exhibition, it marks the absolute collapse of traditional Eastern composure, trading idealized serenity for an unvarnished cry of terror and distress.
Compositional Analysis and Emotional Rupture
Shattering the Façade of Restraint: Departing sharply from the detached, enigmatic expressions of Act I, both female countenances are contorted by overt shock, pain, and fear. Their widened, tear-filled eyes, tautly drawn brows, and parted lips frozen in a silent gasp expose raw psychological distress. The conventional mask of ornamental poise is forcefully stripped away.
A Dialogue Across Time (Tradition and the Present): On the Left — The Classical Figure (Geisha / Maiko): An intricate coiffure adorned with combs and floral pins, draped in ceremonial scarlet silk. Yet beneath the ritual powder and cosmetics, visceral physical and emotional vulnerability pierces through. On the Right — The Contemporary Subject: Modern styling with loose strands framing bare shoulders in a vibrant emerald-green top. This figure echoes earlier compositions (such as and ), illustrating that gendered violence transcends historical eras, victimizing women regardless of time or dress.
The Evidentiary Ballpoint Line: The virtuosic linework in ballpoint pen and pencil functions like forensic documentation inside an investigator's casefile. Its incisive precision exposes the tender vulnerability of human flesh. In the background, like ghostly traces of a lost paradise, white cranes drift across pale lavender washes, forming a tragic counterpoint to the foreground trauma.
Green Calligraphy: A Manifesto of Resilience
The void between the two faces is claimed by prominent Japanese characters rendered in vibrant leaf-green ink. The script acts as an overt conceptual manifesto of endurance and agency:

Presentation
Eugenio Montoro Aybar (born 1974 in Granada, Spain, where he currently resides and works) is a distinguished visual artist, researcher, and educator holding a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Granada, specializing in pictorial techniques and artistic procedures. Throughout his established career, he has combined rigorous academic research and fine art painting with the direction of monumental mural projects and heritage conservation initiatives on both national and international stages.
Among his prominent monumental achievements is the direction and coordination of the mural and decorative paintings for the full-scale replica of the Alhambra of Granada at the Al-Yamamah Royal Palace in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), commissioned by King Fahd bin Abdulaziz. In Spain, he has led prestigious ecclesiastical restorations, including the monumental high altars of the Basilica of Saint Michael the Archangel and the Basilica of Saint Andrew in Granada, as well as the mural decorations of the Basilica of Lillo in Toledo.
