From lace intended to revive the coral, Jérémy Gobé created in 2019 a series of stencils. These works are "poetic artefacts" on the symbiosis between water and lace that the artist leads through Corail Artefact, an immense hope and an art involved in a very concrete way in the major environmental issues of our time, since it is about bringing the corals back to life thanks to the lace substrate. There may be something graffiti in this momentum to make its mark, but this lace net is also a way to fix things. The lace stencils were exhibited in resonance with the Biennale of contemporary art in Lyon as part of the exhibition Immersion at 1111 and the Anthropocene exhibition at the Bullukian Foundation, in 2020. The lace stencils reconcile the link between "Artefact" (product of man) and nature. Human production has destroyed. Today it is up to her to rebuild.

Jérémy Gobé

France Born in: 1986

Corail Artefact is nominated for the Trophées de l'Avenir 2019

Jérémy Gobé is one of those committed artists who dream of changing the world. He began his plastic work instead with scientists from the CNRS to save corals. This work in progress is called Corail Artefact.

Jérémy Gobé is interested in artisans who have traditional know-how and how to relate them to contemporary issues, such as climatic ones. Convinced, like Rodin, that "an art which has life does not reproduce the past, it continues it", he testifies that between the study of the past of our society and that of contemporary discoveries lies an inexhaustible source of new fascinations, new myths, from which he draws inspiration in search of the art of tomorrow.

Throughout his exhibitions in France (Bullukian Foundation, Palais de Tokyo, Cenquatre ...) and internationally (Bass Museum, Hangzu China Museum ...), his artistic approach has become similar to a scientific one: d ' an experimental protocol outlines the path to discovery. Enriching established creative processes, he attributes a new poetic life to materials through sculptures, installations and drawings, exploring the links between art, social sciences and nature.
