This contemporary abstract expressionist still life painting, created by French artist Natalya Mougenot, is part of her ongoing still life series that celebrates the beauty of everyday simplicity and the importance of cherishing ordinary moments.

At the heart of this vibrant composition is a bold depiction of fruits — a pear and three apples arranged in a bowl — rendered with expressive, textured brushstrokes and a rich, dynamic color palette. Dominated by earthy browns, deep reds, and vivid blues, the artwork radiates energy and emotion. The background swirls with hues of turquoise and cobalt, creating a striking contrast that brings the fruit to the forefront with a luminous presence. Mougenot's masterful use of light and shadow lends the composition depth and warmth, inviting viewers to experience the tactile quality of the paint and the emotional resonance of the subject.

Natalya Mougenot is known for developing a distinctive artistic language that blends elements of Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Art Naïf, and Art Brut. Her painting style reflects an intuitive and instinctive approach, emphasizing raw emotion and unfiltered perception.

In addition to painting, Natalya is also a photographer. Her photographic work, also available on this platform, mirrors her painterly sensibility — offering intimate glimpses into the world around her. Through both mediums, she maintains a coherent vision grounded in three guiding values: authenticity, sincerity, and honesty. For Natalya, authenticity is paramount. She believes that viewers can inherently sense what is real, and she strives to create art that is true — art that speaks from the heart and remains faithful to her personal experience.
