Berühmte Modefotografen
Die Modeindustrie liegt nur einen Schritt von der Kunstbranche entfernt: Das haben die berühmtesten Modefotografen bewiesen, deren Arbeit sowohl auf dem Cover der Vogue, als auch in den renommiertesten Galerien und Museen der Welt zu sehen war. Einige von ihnen haben sich sowohl in der Kunst- als auch in der Modewelt einen Namen gemacht.
Der Ursprung der Modefotografie liegt im späten 19. Jahrhundert, als Fortschritte bei der Entwicklung von Kameras und Druckverfahren mit der Gründung von Modemagazinen wie Harper's Bazaar und Vogue zusammenfielen. Der Mittelpunkt der Modefotografie war bis in die späten 1930er Jahre zweifelsohne Paris, wo sich europäische Fotografen wie Horst P. Horst, der für die Vogue arbeitete, etablierten. Die Szene der Modefotografie wanderte dann nach New York City ab, wo sich Künstler wie Martin Munkacsi und Cecil Beaton einen Namen machten. Später im 20. Jahrhundert erlangten die Modefotografien von Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Bert Stern und Richard Avedon einen fast schon ikonischen Status in der Kunst.
Im Jahr 2021 führt die zeitgenössische Modefotografie das Erbe ihrer Vorgänger fort. Die Fotografien des marokkanischen Künstlers Hassan Hajjaj zeigen helle, lässige Mode und rücken die Persönlichkeit seines Modells in den Mittelpunkt. Die berühmten Fotografien des amerikanischen Fotografen Tyler Shields verbinden Mode mit Elementen des Surrealismus.
